The 2026 policies are specific and enforced at the plate meeting. Lineup cards must carry first and last names and uniform numbers, verified by the home plate umpire. Every player must have a jersey with a unique number — no duplicates permitted. All teams must use league baseballs, no exceptions. And every player must have his physical ID, a copy of it, or a copy held by his manager at the field: asked and unable to produce it, he leaves the game immediately, has 24 hours to send a photo ID to the league office, and if he does not and his team won, the game is a forfeit.

That is a league that has been burned by a ringer and written the remedy down. Six age divisions only work if the ages are real. High Cheese keeps a league's rules and documents against the roster itself, so eligibility is checked on the page rather than by asking a man for his driver's licence in a car park in Wantagh.
