Signed before anybody plays
Every player signs a waiver of liability online during registration, releasing the league, its officers, directors, employees and agents. The waiver must carry the player's name, date of birth, email, telephone number, emergency contact and the club he is committed to. A paper waiver may be signed in an emergency and replaced online afterwards, and managers give the president a copy before that player appears in a game. The league also states plainly that all players should carry medical insurance, because it accepts no liability for injury or death, including travelling to and from games.
Collecting an emergency contact and then requiring the manager to hold a copy is a league taking a Tuesday night seriously. High Cheese keeps those documents against the roster itself, so a manager can see at a glance which of his twelve are cleared to play.
