Divided by town size, which is a very Wisconsin idea
The Dairyland League appears twice in our directory -- a Large division and a Small -- and the split is not by age or by standard but, apparently, by the size of the communities fielding teams.
That is a distinctly Wisconsin arrangement, and a fair one: a village of four hundred cannot recruit against a town of twelve thousand, so you stop asking it to.
Neither division has an address in our records. No website, no social page, no listing.
Wisconsin town baseball is one of the last places in the country where the amateur game draws a crowd that is not made up of relatives, and almost none of it is on the internet.
A High Cheese league page gives each division a permanent address with the schedule, the standings and every roster rendered as pages -- so a competition organised around the size of its towns is legible to people who do not live in them.
