Chippewa River Baseball League South Division

About the Chippewa River Baseball League South Division

The other half, equally unrecorded.

And the south half

This is the South Division of the same Wisconsin river league, and it is in the same position as the North: a name in our records with no website, no social page and no listing behind it.

Two divisions is a real structure. It means enough clubs to need splitting, geography worth respecting, and presumably a champion from each meeting somewhere at the end of a summer. All of that is happening, or has happened, and none of it is written down anywhere findable.

Wisconsin's town team tradition survives largely on local knowledge -- who plays where, which village has a field, when the tournament is -- and local knowledge is exactly what dies with the people holding it.

A High Cheese league page turns it into a record: a permanent address per division, with the schedule, the standings and every roster rendered as pages, so the north and the south are two competitions anybody can follow rather than two entries with nothing attached.
