Eight teams and eighteen seasons of records
The SABL describes itself in one sentence -- a competitive baseball league for players aged 19 and over -- and then lets its records do the rest. Eight clubs run it: the Angels, Braves, Cardinals, Jays, Pirates, Royals, Silverbacks and White Sox.
What makes it unusual is how completely it publishes. Every completed game carries a box score link. The batting leaders are live on the front page with a stated qualification -- a minimum of two plate appearances per team game played. The season archive runs back to 2009, with separate regular season and playoff views for each of the eighteen years. Postponements are marked PPD on the fixture rather than removed.
Its documents are the other half: a constitution, a code of conduct, Baseball Ontario's removal from sport and return to sport protocols, and the league's own scoresheet published as two files, front and back.
This is a league that already keeps its own record properly. A High Cheese league page puts the same schedule, standings and rosters at an address the league owns, so eighteen years of box scores survive the software they were entered into.
