Rochester Baseball League

About the Rochester Baseball League

Three leagues, one of them built specifically for men who never played college ball.

Organised and structured, in its own words

The RBL states its mission in a sentence: to offer the baseball community an adult league who's organized and structured. Its vision goes further -- to be all-inclusive, catering to any adult over the age of 17 within any variance of skill level. Those two sentences pull in opposite directions, and the way the league resolves them is the most interesting thing about it.

It runs three separate leagues. AAA is the premier competition, 17 and over, made up of college-level talent and current or former players from the local colleges. AA is strictly 25 and over -- you must be turning 25 in the year you play, no exceptions. And the A league, which went live in 2025, is described as restricted: 17 and over, with the single restriction that no participant may have played college baseball within the last twenty years.

That third rule is the answer to the tension. A man who last played high school ball twenty years ago has a league of his own here, in a city where the top division is full of college arms.

What the league has not built is a public record to match its structure. A High Cheese league page keeps the schedule, the standings and every roster at an address the league owns, one per club, which is the shape an organisation running three competitions already needs.
