Ithaca, with nothing attached
Ithaca has two universities, thirty thousand residents and a permanently refreshing population of people in their twenties and thirties who arrive from somewhere else. It is a town almost designed to need an adult baseball league and to struggle to keep one, because everybody leaves.
Our directory holds a name and no address -- no website, no social page, no listing.
That combination is the hardest one. A league with high turnover depends entirely on being discoverable by strangers, because its institutional memory walks out every few years with the graduate students.
A High Cheese league page is a permanent address with the schedule, the standings and every roster rendered as pages, findable by each new arrival without anybody having to remember to tell them. Which for a league in a college town is not a convenience but the mechanism by which it continues to exist.
