About the Omaha Men's Senior Baseball League

Senior baseball in Omaha since 1988, on Wednesday nights, in wood, with a pitching age floor of thirty.

You have to be thirty to pitch

OMSBL runs a Wednesday night 22-and-over division in wood bats only, and attaches to it the most unusual eligibility rule in this directory: to pitch, a player must turn 30 in the calendar year. A twenty-four-year-old can play every other position and cannot take the mound. It is a rule about pace and about what happens to a thirty-eight-year-old hitter facing a college arm on a Wednesday, and it defines the league more than any age bracket does.

Men's senior baseball has been running in Omaha since 1988, and the league describes what it has as a rich tradition of competition and camaraderie. It also, generously, tells you about the competition: a Sunday over-50 league, a latino league, and the OABL, all named on its own about page.

Its last published divisions are the 22+ with the Omaha Cubs, Red Birds, Cowboys, Diablos, 3XP, Black Sox, JW's, Nebraska Yankees, Royals and RoadRunners, and the 50+ with the Indians, Cowboys, JW's and Dodgers, as they stood for 2023. A High Cheese team page gives every one of those clubs its own address with the roster, results and history on it, which is the part a league page listing fourteen names cannot do for them.
