Indianapolis MSBL/MABL

Indiana Baseball League Fields

Grand Park turf for most of it, high schools for the rest, and Victory Field in its history.

Turf first, by choice

Most IBL baseball is played on the turf fields at Grand Park in Westfield, with relationships across Indianapolis high schools covering the rest. The league's history adds the two grounds it is proudest of: eight games at Victory Field in 1997, the new home of the Indianapolis Indians and a park many have called the best minor league facility in the country, and a round robin for three of its clubs at Cinergy Field in Cincinnati.

Building a fifty-club league around turf is a deliberate answer to an Indiana spring — it is the reason four hundred games a year actually get played. No address, map or field assignment is published for any fixture. High Cheese ties the ballpark, the address, the map and its surface rules to the game itself, so a player knows which cleats to put in the car.
