In an app, not on a page
The league asks people to follow FAABL on GameChanger, which is where its scoring lives. Its own site publishes standings and finals and no batting or pitching figures at all, and the volunteer list includes scorekeeping and stat tracking among the jobs it needs help with.
Every number a league keeps in an app is a number nobody can find by searching a player's name. Statistics on High Cheese come out of the box scores as they are entered and follow a player between clubs and seasons in plain text on the league's own page, which is also one fewer system for the volunteers to keep in step.
Fairbanks MSBL in detail
- Wood bat baseball under the Midnight Sun since the 1970s, run entirely by volunteers.
- The 2026 season, game by game with scores, subject to change for whatever reason.
- Fuegos 9-3, Spruce 8-3, 49ers 6-1, and the Wild still looking for their first.
- Every result printed beside its fixture, all season.
- Angels, Fuegos, Icemen, Misfits, Pirates, Spruce and Wild — each one written up properly.
- Michael Ryan Zuniga, [email protected], and (907) 347-2970.
- A free agent pool open all season, about $150, and no metal cleats at Growden.
- West Valley, Marlin and Growden Memorial, with the league at 3800 Geist Road.
- MLB rules, seven innings, wood bats, 25-man rosters and a minimum of eight to start.
- No news page — the standings and the schedule carry the story instead.
- Photography is a volunteer job here; no gallery is published.
- None — and the league says so on purpose.
- The Goldpanners all-star game, the Alaska State Tournament, and the City Series in August.
- A champion named every year since 1993, and a league in Fairbanks since the 1970s.
- Christoph Falke commissions it; eight jobs are named with the people doing them.
- All five answered, with dates and a price, and no email required.
- A published rulebook, a privacy policy, and two forms.
- Tryouts May 3, opening day May 17, Goldpanners June 8, City Series August 22 to September 6.
- Snapbacks at $26, tees from $23, and every dollar going back into the fields.
- Certified umpires, official scorers, and the umpire in charge settles it on the spot.
