Baseball under the Midnight Sun
FAABL is a volunteer-run men's wood bat league in Fairbanks, Alaska, existing to give adults a chance to play competitive baseball under the Midnight Sun, build community and grow the game in Interior Alaska. Eighteen and over, all skill levels, from first-timers to former college athletes. Sunday afternoons through the summer with some midweek games, seven innings, MLB rules, wood bats, around $150 a player. Every season opens with tryouts and a draft, and every manager builds his roster from it. It is one hundred percent volunteer-run: no corporate sponsors, no paid staff.
Nothing else in this directory publishes as much about itself as this league does — champions back to 1993, a written identity for every club, a season timeline to the date — and it is spread across a website, a stats app, a shop and a form. High Cheese puts the whole of that at one address the league owns, so the work its volunteers already do lands in one place instead of four.
