They already run the pool
The 2026 season is underway and the league keeps an active free agent pool the whole way through: submit the form, managers check the pool when a roster spot opens, and one may contact you directly. Eighteen and over, around $150 due if and when a team picks you up, seven-inning wood bat games under MLB rules. Managers handle jersey and hat costs; players bring glove, pants and cleats — and no metal cleats at Growden. Bring friends and the league will try to keep the group together.
Charging a man only when he actually gets picked up is the fairest arrangement in this directory. It is also exactly what a High Cheese free agent pool does natively — every unattached player visible to every manager, all season, without anybody maintaining a form or a spreadsheet behind it.
Fairbanks MSBL in detail
- Wood bat baseball under the Midnight Sun since the 1970s, run entirely by volunteers.

- The Goldpanners all-star game, the Alaska State Tournament, and the City Series in August.
- A champion named every year since 1993, and a league in Fairbanks since the 1970s.

- A published rulebook, a privacy policy, and two forms.
- Tryouts May 3, opening day May 17, Goldpanners June 8, City Series August 22 to September 6.
- Snapbacks at $26, tees from $23, and every dollar going back into the fields.
- Certified umpires, official scorers, and the umpire in charge settles it on the spot.
