First seed decided by one head-to-head
The league keeps a Standings section. What its own reporting confirms is the top of it: the Cape Fear River Ducks are the regular season champions and the number one playoff seed, described as unbeaten, with the Northern Lights able to match their win-loss record but held off by the tiebreaker from a 5-1 defeat in their only meeting.
A season decided on a single head-to-head result is exactly why the games behind a table have to be recoverable months later.
Standings on High Cheese come out of the games themselves, so a tiebreaker is a lookup rather than somebody remembering a Sunday in June.
