The Taxi Pool
The league's route in for anyone not already on a roster is a Taxi Pool -- borrowed from professional hockey, where a taxi squad is the group of players kept ready to be called up.
Naming it that rather than a free agent list says something useful: these are men expected to be needed, not men waiting to be chosen.
It also keeps a New Player FAQ as a separate section.
No fee is published on the open pages.
A join page that states the fee beside the season it buys, with the pool underneath it where managers can see it, is what a High Cheese league page does at the league's own address -- and in a seven-club league, a taxi squad is what stops a Thursday becoming a forfeit.
