Scarborough Vintage Baseball League

Scarborough Vintage Baseball League Fields

Neilson Park, Scarborough — and effectively nowhere else.

One diamond, thirty years

Every fixture on the league's schedule names the same ground: Neilson Park, Scarborough. The league's own description says it plays primarily there, and nothing on the current schedule departs from it.

Thirty years at one park is a permit relationship worth more than any equipment budget, and it is the reason a four-team league can survive on Saturdays.

The Maroons' record shows where the rest of the travelling goes -- Charlottetown, Halifax, Yarmouth, Calgary, Burlington, Hamilton, Welland, Chatham, Mississauga, Walsingham.

A ground attached to each game on a High Cheese schedule matters most the first time one moves, which in this league would be the exception rather than the rule.
