Five rungs, plus midweek and Legends
The spring programme runs Premier at the top, then Intermediate and Intermediate AAA, then Amateur and Amateur AAA, alongside a Midweek competition for players who cannot give up weekends. The Legends division runs separately at 35+, 45+ and a 35+ Premier level.
Putting a AAA tier inside both the Intermediate and the Amateur bands means a club that is too strong for one level and not ready for the next has somewhere to go — which is exactly the problem that breaks skill-based leagues. Fall runs a shorter ladder: Amateur, Intermediate and Premier, plus a 35+ Legends. High Cheese keeps a league's divisions and rules beside the schedule and against the rosters, so seven levels are distinguishable to the men choosing between them.
