Six clubs, named for their neighbourhoods
The final season was contested by the Dirt Dawgs, the Conshy Marlins, the Philadelphia Red Sox, the Padres, the Philadelphia Lions and the Quaker City Comets. Conshy is Conshohocken; Quaker City is Philadelphia itself. The results also carry the Lansdale Cannoneers and the Harleysville Colts from interleague fixtures.
Naming a club Quaker City Comets and another the Dirt Dawgs in the same six-team league is Philadelphia in miniature. No roster or player is published for any of them, though the award write-ups name a dozen men. Rosters on High Cheese update as players sign and follow a man between clubs and seasons, so the names in a Cy Young article are the names on a page.
