Sundays, and one weekend deliberately empty
Games were seven-inning doubleheaders on Sundays, typically starting at 11:00am or 1:00pm. The 2022 season was set for June 5th, then pushed back a week to June 12th after a managers' meeting, with no play over the July 4th weekend, a make-up weekend on August 21st and championship weekend on August 28th.
Moving a season opener a week after the managers have met is normal and it is exactly the change that never reaches half a league. A High Cheese calendar carries the whole year and subscribes to a player's phone, so the new date finds every man rather than waiting on a news post he may not read.
