A tryout and a draft, on the same afternoon
A roster is a minimum of fourteen and a maximum of twenty. A player without a team registers under the 18+ player without a team, tryouts option rather than under a club name, so the league can reach him if the tryout date moves.
Tryouts are April 19 at 2pm at Oakley Park, 715 Fairview Road, Asheville. The draft happens immediately afterwards. Being placed is not guaranteed, spots are limited, and anybody who does not attend goes on a waiting list. A player not selected gets his registration fee back, minus the $3 the payment processor charges.
That is a genuinely well-designed intake, and it is run once a year on one afternoon. High Cheese gives a league a free agent pool that works the other fifty-one weeks, so a man who moved to Asheville in July is not waiting until April.
