MBA rules, Class C criteria
The Ada Athletics play under Minnesota Baseball Association rules rather than any code of their own, and the MBA publishes both its documents and its classification criteria centrally. Ada carry twelve classification points, which places them in Class C.
The points break down as two for town population, five for players and five for success. A club that starts winning, or starts importing college players, moves up a class whether it wants to or not.
That is an unusually transparent way to run competitive balance, and it means a good year has a cost attached, which is either fair or brutal depending on how your good year went.
A Class C club at twelve points has to go looking for the criteria that put it there, and High Cheese keeps them on the same page as the games.
