Saratoga, in the other August
Saratoga Springs empties and refills on a racing calendar. For six weeks in the summer it is one of the busiest towns in New York and for the rest of the year it is a small city with a college in it.
Its adult baseball league appears in our directory as a name with no address -- no website, no social page, no listing.
Upstate New York is otherwise reasonably present in these records, and the leagues near it are not doing well either: Syracuse's domain has lapsed, Rome has no address, Binghamton has no address, Ithaca has no address. Rochester, the exception, publishes its draft results pick by pick and its officers with the year each took office.
The difference between Rochester and the rest is not the size of the league. It is that one of them decided to be readable.
A High Cheese league page is that decision made cheap: a permanent address with the schedule, the standings and every roster rendered as pages.
