The forfeit column
Electrons 18-8-0 on 36 points, .692, 194 runs for and 134 against. Hounds 17-11-1 on 35, .603, 196 and 144. Blazers 15-11-2 on 32, .571, 162 and 118. White Sox 10-15-1 on 21, .404, 149 and 161. Hawks 7-18-1 on 15, .288, 120 and 220.
The table runs points and points percentage rather than win percentage, at two a win and one a tie, and it carries a column headed FL for forfeit losses. Every club currently shows zero.
Tracking forfeits as a standing column, and publishing it, is a decision made by a league that has been hurt by teams not turning up. Printing zeroes across the board is the league saying, this season, everybody showed.
Standings on High Cheese come out of the games themselves, forfeits included, so the column stays honest without anybody maintaining it.
