Staff, which is a different word
The league publishes a Staff page under its League heading, alongside Teams and About. Nobody renders on the readable page.
Calling it staff rather than a board of directors suggests people who do jobs rather than people who hold offices, which for a five-club city league is probably the truth of it: somebody books the park, somebody runs the schedule, somebody keeps the table.
High Cheese lets a league name its officers and hand out real permissions, so the jobs have accounts attached.
Chicago Metropolitan Baseball Association in detail
- Five clubs, one park, and a stated purpose: preserving amateur baseball in the City of Chicago.
- Weekday evenings at six, weekend mornings from half past nine, nearly all at one park.
- Points, points percentage, runs for and against, and a column counting forfeits.
- Real results with times and parks: 19-6, 10-1, 8-6, and a 7-0 at Piotrowski.
- Electrons, Hounds, Blazers, White Sox, Hawks, and an Instagram account per club.
- Runs for and against by club, and nothing about any player.
- A Join Us page and a Staff page; no address renders.
- A Join Us page, in a five-club league playing on city park permits.
- Winnemac Park, Piotrowski Park, and a separate schedule for Amundsen High School.
- Three documents under one heading, and a points system that rewards showing up.
- A News section, kept as the first item in the navigation.
- No league gallery, and a club Instagram embedded on the front page.
- Nobody is thanked in public.
- A Playoffs section beside the schedule, and a previous championships archive.
- Awards archived in two blocks, 1994 to 2007 and 2013 to 2024, with a gap between them.
- The league keeps its own FAQ, and a Join Us page beside it.
- Bylaws, policy and playing rules, plus two award archives.
- A season into mid-August, with fixtures listed to the 16th.
- Nothing is for sale.
- No crew or assignor is named.
