Anne Arundel County, thirty-seven years in
The Chesapeake MSBL calls itself the largest adult baseball league in Maryland and has been providing competitive baseball since 1989. It runs over thirty teams across three age groups: 21+, 35+ and 45+.
Thirty teams is a substantial operation, and the age split is a wide one. A 21+ competition and a 45+ competition are different sports played to the same rules, and a league carrying both is carrying two very different Sundays.
It is affiliated with MSBL/MABL National, and states its own line about giving back to the community rather than only playing in it.
High Cheese runs three age groups as three seasons at one address, each with its own schedule, table and roster, which for thirty-plus clubs is the difference between a league and three spreadsheets.
