How to join Metrowest Mets
New players do not sign up with Metrowest Mets directly. They register with the Boston Metro Baseball League, pick the age divisions they qualify for, and their details go to every manager in those divisions.
The league is explicit that most managers will invite a player to practice or try out before offering a roster spot, that every player is a free agent free to sign with whoever contacts them, and that there is no guarantee of being contacted at all.
For a club in the 28+ MetroWest Division that means the roster is built out of a shared pool rather than a queue of people who found Metrowest Mets and asked.
Somebody who wants Metrowest Mets specifically is currently depending on a league-wide mailshot reaching the right manager, and the High Cheese free agent pool takes that signup straight to the club.
