Ties, which means somebody is keeping the book
The league publishes no game results, but the standings give it away: 9-4-1, 6-5-1, 4-9-1, 11-1-2, 1-11-1. A third of the records in this league carry a tie, which means games are being played to a time limit and recorded exactly as they finished rather than rounded into a win column.
The care is already there. What is missing is the game itself surviving past the table. High Cheese scores a game pitch by pitch at the field, offline if the signal is bad, and posts the box score when the book is finalized, so a 6-5-1 season is twelve games somebody can look up rather than three numbers.
