Wood, for the feel of it
The published rules are two: wood bat only, and open to all male players aged 18 and up.
The league's reason for the first is not safety or cost but authenticity -- authentic wood bat play for a professional feel, baseball the way it was meant to be played.
Nothing about roster limits, game length, courtesy runners or pitching restrictions appears.
A rulebook belongs beside the fixture it governs. A High Cheese league page keeps the current version at the league's own address next to the schedule.
