Sixteen to thirty
The Aitkin Steam publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it start at sixteen and stop at thirty.
Sixteen is the youngest age in the Minnesota set so far. Town ball at Class C in a small county will hand a high school sophomore real innings, because there is nobody else to hand them to, and that is how the whole structure has always replenished itself.
None of it is reproduced here. A published roster is real people from Aitkin with their ages and schools attached, and it is theirs rather than ours. Several of them are minors.
A roster running 16 to 30 is the most interesting thing about Aitkin Steam, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
