The People's Baseball League

The People's Baseball League Fields

It started at Lemann Playground at three o'clock on a Sunday.

Lemann Playground, 13 March 2016

The one ground named anywhere in the league's own record is where it began: Lemann Playground, three o'clock on a Sunday in March 2016, in the circular that told eleven people to bring one more each.

Where the ten clubs play now is not published.

A league founded on the argument that baseball belongs in the streets and grass and dirt of the city has a good reason to name its grounds.

A High Cheese schedule attaches the ground to each game and carries it into every player's phone, which for a league across a city of wards and neighbourhoods is the difference between a Sunday and a wasted afternoon.
