Class B baseball in Eagle Lake, Minnesota
The Eagle Lake Expos are an amateur baseball club from Eagle Lake, Minnesota, playing Class B in the River Valley Central League under the Minnesota Baseball Association. They went 12-8 in 2026 under manager Mitch Kleist at The People's Stadium.
The People's Stadium. Not Memorial Field, not somebody's surname, not the name of the bank that paid for the scoreboard. A town of about three thousand in Blue Earth County decided its ballpark belonged to everybody and put it in the name.
Thirty-one classification points is the top of Class B, level with Carver, which puts Eagle Lake on the boundary of Class A.
The club is named the Expos, after a franchise that left Montreal in 2004 and has not existed for over twenty years. Amateur baseball is where retired major league names go to keep working.
A ballpark called The People's Stadium was named by somebody who meant it, and the association records it in six words. High Cheese gives Eagle Lake the room to mean it too.
