Crow River Valley South League

About the Crow River Valley - South League

Nine clubs whose names are a map of who settled here: Hollanders, Dutchmen, Bruins, Brewers.

Cologne, New Germany, Hamburg, Winsted

Arlington Athletics, Brownton Bruins, Cologne Hollanders, Glencoe Brewers, Hamburg Hawks, New Germany Dutchmen, Norwood Indians, Westonka Waves and Winsted Wildcats.

Read the town names together and the settlement history reads back off the page: Cologne, New Germany, Hamburg. German immigrants named this country after the places they left, and then the clubs took the next step and called themselves the Hollanders and the Dutchmen.

Eight of the nine are Class C in Region 7. Westonka is Class B, playing a grade above the rest.

This is the southern half of a competition that also has a North league, so at some point there were enough clubs here to need two.

High Cheese gives a league its own address with the schedule, the table and the rosters on it.
