Class C baseball in International Falls, Minnesota

The Rainy Lake North Stars are an amateur baseball club playing Class C in the Northwest Border League under the Minnesota Baseball Association, at Scheela Field in International Falls, Minnesota. They went 1-7 in 2026 under manager Emmitt Olson.

International Falls sits on the Rainy River directly across from Fort Frances, Ontario, and is the coldest incorporated city in the contiguous United States. It calls itself the Icebox of the Nation and has gone to court to defend the trademark.

Eight games is the joint shortest season in this set, alongside Kensington. This far north the summer is genuinely brief, and nobody is stretching a schedule into a month that is going to freeze.

Six classification points, and the nearest league opponents are in Bemidji and Hibbing, both well over a hundred miles south.

This is the third North Stars in the Minnesota set, after Henning and Minneapolis, all still carrying a name that left the state in 1993.

The coldest incorporated city in the lower forty-eight, playing eight games in the window it has. High Cheese gives International Falls the page where the schedule is the story.
