Twenty-eight years, and a belt
The annual all-star series between the Central Ohio MABL and the Columbus MSBL dates back to 1998, and Columbus leads it 14-13-1, with the pandemic year counted separately.
In 2026 the Columbus MSBL won 5-3 to take the President's Cup ASG Belt, ending a run of six straight defeats and recording their first win since back-to-back victories in 2017 and 2018. The longest streaks in the series are six games each way: Columbus from 1998 to 2003, Central Ohio from 2019 to 2025.
A trophy belt, a twenty-eight-year series and a one-game lead after all of it.
High Cheese builds and runs a bracket seeded off the standings a league already keeps, and keeps every season, so a series this long stays a single continuous record.
