Codgers, Warthogs and Armadillos
The Vermont Senior Baseball League runs eleven clubs across the state and over the Connecticut River into New Hampshire: the Burlington Cardinals, the Champlain Whales, the Chelsea Bat Company, Mad River Valley, the Montpelier Monties, the Randolph Jays, the Upper Valley Sluggers, the Vergennes Codgers, the Waterbury Warthogs, the Williston Armadillos and the Woodsville River Rats.
Half of those names are jokes about age and the other half are places, which is the correct ratio for a senior league. The Vergennes Codgers is the best team name in this directory.
Its season selector reaches back to 2011 -- sixteen years of archives, with every season from 2011 to 2026 except 2020 available from the front page.
It publishes live standings, league leaders, scores and highlights, manager contacts, league documents, a rulebook and a league history.
This is one of the best-kept league records here, and it sits on a site with a manager login and no address of its own. A High Cheese league page keeps the same schedule, standings and rosters at an address the league owns.
