Class B baseball in Winona, Minnesota
The Winona Chiefs are an amateur baseball club from Winona, Minnesota, playing Class B in the Twin Rivers League under the Minnesota Baseball Association. They went 9-13 in 2026 under manager Lee Trocinski at Gabrych Park.
Twenty-nine classification points for a city of about twenty-five thousand on the Mississippi, built on a sandbar between the river and a five hundred foot bluff. Winona has two colleges and one of the best settings of any town in the state.
The Twin Rivers League produced Stewartville-Racine at 19-5, the Austin Greyhounds at 18-2, Plainview at 8-7, Dodge County at 13-10, the Austin Blue Jays at 4-14, Pine Island at 5-16, Rush Creek at 6-14 and Rochester at 6-17. Nine clubs across the southeastern corner of the state, and the Chiefs finished in the middle of them.
Two colleges in town and a Class B club carrying men twice their students' age. High Cheese gives Winona the page to say that is deliberate.
