Class A baseball in South St. Paul, Minnesota
The Stockmens Irish are an amateur baseball club from South St. Paul, Minnesota, playing Class A in the Skyline League under the Minnesota Baseball Association. They went 18-9 in 2026 under manager Todd Klingsporn at McGuire Field.
South St. Paul held the largest stockyards in the world by the 1970s, and the club is named after the men who worked them. The yards closed in 2008. The name did not.
Stockmens Irish is also the fifth Irish reference in this set, after Green Isle, Maple Lake, Milroy and Saint Patrick, and the only one attached to a trade rather than a place.
Seventy-eight classification points, and eighteen wins in twenty-seven games. The Skyline League also holds St. Anthony at 19-11, North St. Paul at 16-12, the Metro Knights at 11-19 and the Minneapolis North Stars at 2-14, so this division has a top half and a bottom half and very little in between.
Named for stockyards that closed in 2008, and the name has outlived them by nearly twenty years. High Cheese gives South St. Paul the page where that is deliberate.
