The alert list is the real channel
The league keeps a news page on its host and, more usefully, runs a signup for important messages by text and email. In a Sunday-only league where rain costs a doubleheader, that list is the thing that actually matters.
Everything else -- the news, the links, the sponsors page -- sits on a rented site with a visitor counter at the foot of it.
A High Cheese league page pushes a cancellation straight into the schedule every player already carries, which does the alert list's job without anybody having to maintain a mailing list.
