A single line on the front page
The league's entire published news is that registration for the 2026 season is open, with a button beneath it. There is no news page, no archive and no newsletter.
For a rainout, the league falls back on a recorded phone line, which means the announcement everybody needs most urgently is the one nobody can see.
A High Cheese league page pushes a cancellation to the schedule every player already has on their phone, which is faster than a recording and does not depend on anyone remembering the number.
Ohio MSBL in detail
- Six age divisions from 25 to 70-and-over, run as an LLC on a rulebook of forty thousand words.
- The schedule page exists and is completely empty.
- Standings decide playoff eligibility and are published nowhere.
- The home team's scorebook is the official record, and it is a paper book.
- Fifteen to twenty players a team, with a cap the league says exists to prevent hoarding.
- The rules depend on counting games played; nothing counted is published.
- The one published number is a rain line.
- One registration link covers every division from 25+ to 70+, with free agents choosing that option.
- The field locations page is empty, though the rules name Munson Stadium.
- OHSAA rules as the foundation, with line sharing, shootouts, bench restrictions and a decoy rule on top.
- No gallery is published.
- Sponsored teams may wear the sponsor's name; no sponsor is named.
- Playoff eligibility is written into the rules; the bracket is not published.
- The rulebook is the only record of the league's past, and it reads like one.
- A board of division commissioners, a president and a CEO — none of them named.
- How the older divisions differ, what a forfeit costs, and what a protest costs.
- The rulebook, its two appendices and a waiver every player signs.
- The rules are precisely dated; the season is not dated at all.
- Nothing is for sale; the league supplies the balls.
- The rulebook gives umpires unusual authority and names no crew.
