Ligers, DiamondHawks, Shockers, Loons
Bluffton Braves, Clarissa Flyers, Deer Creek Shockers, Dent DiamondHawks, Detroit Lakes Ligers, Frazee-Vergas Loons, Henning North Stars, New York Mills Millers and Perham Pirates.
Three of those names are inventions rather than inheritances. A liger is a lion crossed with a tiger. A DiamondHawk is not an animal at all. The Shockers are named for a wheat shock, which is the older kind of name and the one that fits Otter Tail County.
Frazee-Vergas carry a hyphen, so two towns combined rather than fold. New York Mills is a real place, settled by Finns.
Eight clubs are Class C Region 11 and Bluffton are Class B District 5.
High Cheese gives a league its own address with the schedule, the table and the rosters on it.
