Class C baseball in Lakefield, Minnesota
The Lakefield Horned Frogs are an amateur baseball club from Lakefield, Minnesota, playing Class C in the First Nite League under the Minnesota Baseball Association. They went 3-14 in 2026 under manager Taylor Christopher at Stan King Field.
The horned lizard, universally called a horned frog, is a desert animal native to Texas and the American southwest. It does not occur in Minnesota, would not survive a Jackson County winter, and is the mascot of a town of about seventeen hundred on the southwestern prairie. Texas Christian University got there first and somebody in Lakefield liked the sound of it.
Eight classification points is lower Class C. The First Nite League is where Heron Lake went winless and Jackson finished five over, so a 3-14 season sits toward the bottom of a division with real spread in it.
