Seventeen to forty-five
The New Germany Dutchmen publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from seventeen to forty-five.
Twenty-eight years across the bench, from a high school junior to a forty-five-year-old, in a town of four hundred. That span is the club's whole answer to fielding nine men twenty times, and it does not have anything left over for the twenty-first.
None of it is reproduced here. A published roster is real people from New Germany with their ages and schools attached, and it is theirs rather than ours. Several of them are minors.
A roster running 17 to 45 is the most interesting thing about New Germany Dutchmen, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
