One equipment rule that shapes everything
The CMBL is a wood bat league across all three of its divisions, 25+, 35+ and 45+, and states that its teams span all talent levels.
Wood changes the game more than any other rule an amateur league can adopt. Balls do not carry, pitchers survive, and every player replaces bats he breaks. A league that commits to it in all three brackets has decided what kind of baseball it wants.
Starting at 25 rather than 18 is the other structural choice, and it puts the youngest division past college entirely.
High Cheese keeps a league's own rules beside its schedule.
