Two records that disagree with each other
Miesville Mudhens 4-0 in league play, 26-4 overall, plus 27, four straight wins. Lakeville Loonatics 3-2 in the league and 8-18 overall. Dundas Dukes 2-1 and 16-16. Hastings Hawks 2-5 and 17-16, minus 25. Hampton Cardinals 1-4 and 4-16. Rochester Royals 0-0 in the league and 13-10 overall.
The Loonatics are the line worth staring at: second in the league at 3-2 and 8-18 against everybody else. In Class A town ball a club plays most of its schedule outside its own league, so the two columns measure genuinely different things.
Rochester at 0-0 with thirteen wins elsewhere is the same effect taken to its limit.
Standings on High Cheese come out of the games themselves, so a league record and an overall record are two views of one set of results rather than two tables.
Classic Cannon Valley American League in detail
- Six Class A clubs south of the Twin Cities, including a Miesville side that has lost four games all year.
- No league schedule, and clubs playing thirty games mostly outside it.
- No results page, and a Miesville side that has lost four times in thirty games.
- Six towns along the Cannon River and the bluffs, and no players named.
- Run differential is the only figure kept, and Miesville's is oddly small.
- No contact is published for the league or any of its six clubs.
- No form, no fee, and six clubs that pick their own players.
- No ballpark list here, in a league that contains some of the best-known parks in amateur baseball.
- Class A, Section 1, uniformly, which is the highest grade the association awards.
- Nothing specific to this league appears in the association's feed.
- No album or gallery.
- Nobody is thanked in public.
- A Class A season points at the state tournament, and Miesville have been there before.
- No founding year here, and the state archives kept a floor above.
- No league officers named; the association publishes its own board.
- How good it is, answered exactly. Everything practical, not at all.
- Association documents and classification criteria, none of them this league's.
- Thirty games played by the leaders, and no dates published.
- Nothing is for sale.
- No crew or assignor is named.
