Class A baseball in Hampton, Minnesota

The Hampton Cardinals are an amateur baseball club from Hampton, Minnesota, playing Class A in the Classic Cannon Valley American League under the Minnesota Baseball Association. They went 4-17 in 2026 under manager Darin Blume at Harold Doffing Field.

Thirty-six classification points is among the lowest Class A figures in this set, barely above the thirty-five that Alexandria carries and the thirty-four at Faribault. Hampton is a Dakota County town of about seven hundred people playing the association's top grade, and 4-17 is the price of that.

The same league holds the Dundas Dukes at ninety-two points, who finished 16-16. A town of seven hundred and a town of fifteen hundred with two colleges next door, in the same division, graded fifty-six points apart.

Nobody made Hampton play Class A. A town that size choosing the top grade and taking the beating is a decision worth respecting even when the record is not.

Seven hundred people chose to play Class A and took the beating. High Cheese gives Hampton the page where that decision reads as a decision rather than a bad record.
