The Buckman Billygoats publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from seventeen to fifty.
Thirty-three years across one bench, from a high school junior to a fifty-year-old, in a town of two hundred that went 14-2. There is no other level of baseball in the country where that sentence is ordinary.
We do not reprint it. It is a list of named people with their ages and schools attached, and Buckman Billygoats publishing it does not make it ours to copy. Several of them are minors.
A roster running 17 to 50 is the most interesting thing about Buckman Billygoats, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
