Eighteen to forty-five
The Searles Grizzlies publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from eighteen to forty-five.
Twenty-seven years across a bench belonging to a village of seventy people. The men on it come from the farms and townships around Searles rather than from inside it, because seventy people cannot supply a baseball team and everybody involved knows that.
The roster stays where Searles Grizzlies put it. Republishing a list of named people with their ages and schools attached is not something a directory gets to decide for a club.
A roster running 18 to 45 is the most interesting thing about Searles Grizzlies, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
