Sixteen to forty
The Hanska Lakers publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from sixteen to forty.
Twenty-four years across a bench belonging to a village of four hundred, on a club that lost five games all summer. Starting at sixteen is not desperation here, it is a pipeline that has been working long enough to produce a 16-5-1 season.
None of it is reproduced here. A published roster is real people from Hanska with their ages and schools attached, and it is theirs rather than ours. Several of them are minors.
A roster running 16 to 40 is the most interesting thing about Hanska Lakers, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
