Eighteen to forty

The Minnetonka Monarchs publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from eighteen to forty.

Twenty-two years across a bench that won twenty-six games in thirty-four tries. Getting a forty-year-old through a season that long in metropolitan Class A takes managing, and the record says it was managed well.

None of it is reproduced here. A published roster is real people from Minnetonka with their ages and schools attached, and it is theirs rather than ours.
