Seventeen to forty-two
The Kensington Norsemen publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it run from seventeen to forty-two.
Twenty-five years across a bench belonging to a village of three hundred. The span is arithmetic rather than philosophy: three hundred people do not contain nine men of similar age who all want to play baseball on a Sunday.
We do not reprint it. It is a list of named people with their ages and schools attached, and Kensington Norsemen publishing it does not make it ours to copy. Several of them are minors.
A roster running 17 to 42 is the most interesting thing about Kensington Norsemen, and on High Cheese the club decides how much of it is public.
