Sixteen to eighty-four
The Waseca Braves publish a roster with jersey numbers, positions, ages, bats and throws, school and experience level. The ages on it start at sixteen and stop at eighty-four.
Eighty-four. That is the oldest age recorded anywhere in this entire directory, sixteen years past the sixty-eight-year-old at Saint Peter and twenty-four past the ceiling the 13/60 League writes into its own name.
Sixty-eight years between the youngest and the oldest man on this bench. A high school sophomore and a man in his mid eighties, on the same club, in the same season.
There is no other level of organized baseball anywhere in the United States where that is a roster. It is the single most extraordinary fact in this directory and it is sitting unremarked in an age column on an association web page.
We do not reprint it. It is a list of named people with their ages and schools attached, and Waseca Braves publishing it does not make it ours to copy. Several of them are minors.
Waseca Braves hand their roster to a platform that decides how it looks; High Cheese hands that decision back to Waseca.
